transition

Ok ok...I know you've all been dying to know what this "transition" is for Brett and I (even though most of you reading probably already know). Well the cat's out of the bag...we are joining full-time staff with Campus Crusade for Christ this summer! Here are some "Frequently Asked Questions" answered for you all.

FAQs
1. Weren't you already working for CCC? Well, yes. Brett and I are both interns and we are just finishing up our internships (my second year, Brett's first). You can only intern up to 2 years, so we had to decide what was going to be next.

2. How did you come to this awesome decision? We really love our job. We love working with college students and seeing their lives be changed because of Christ. We felt very affirmed through prayer, wise counsel of friends, and our families. It seemed like everyone knew we would be doing this before we did!

3. Will you be going back to work at Texas Tech? We don't know?! CCC assesses placement by the current need of the region, the preference of the people joining staff, lots of prayer, and probably more stuff that I am not fully aware of at this point. Anyway...after lots of thought and prayer, Brett and I feel like the Lord is preparing us to GO and experience ministry in another place. Therefore, we have voiced to our region that we are willing to leave Texas Tech and go somewhere else in the region. We currently do not know our placement, so we are in a time of waiting patiently to find out :)

4. So are you going to end up across the world? No. Not at this point at least. CCC in the United States is divided into regions and currently we are in the Red River Region which is made up of Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma & Arkansas. So, we will end up in one of those 4 states.

5. When will you find out where you will be placed? We will know for sure by the end of June.

6. When will you officially go to the location you will be placed? We have a lot of things ahead of us before we end up in our TBA location. First, we will be going to Fort Collins, CO this summer for 6 weeks for our New Staff Training. Following the training, we will be moving in with my parents (woo hoo!) to raise all of our financial support needed. Once we are at 100% of our support goal, we will then move to our placement.

So I think that about covers all the basics at this point. I'll keep you all posted with what happens with our future. We are trusting the Lord with our future and are excited for wherever God takes us :)

If you want more details, let me know!

a picture update

So it's been a while since I've blogged, so in order for this to not get too out of control wordy, I'll do a short update via pictures!

This is Brett and I on Easter Sunday. It was our first Easter as a married couple :). We spent the afternoon with our "2nd family"...the staff team here! Below are all of the Staff kids getting ready to find the Easter eggs that we hid!

To the right is a picture of the most delicious thing I have ever tasted in my life. Exaggerating? Probably not. I mentioned a few blogs back about Brett's awesome cake balls that he made. Well, he outdid himself once again with this Triple Layer Chocolate Cheesecake! I am a HUGE fan that my husband is learning his love for baking :) I will not mention how many sticks of butter we have gone through in the past month.

This is my sweet friend and co-worker Katie Bearden at her going away party. She is moving (well I guess she already moved) to Arkansas to be the womens director at the UofA. I am going to miss being on the same staff team as her! (unless we get placed on the same team...which will be another post all together). Anyway...this picture is hilarious because she is opening her gift from Trace...a TUMBLEWEED. Now she can always remember Lubbock and all its goodness :)

Last weekend we had our annual Tech CRU Spring Banquet. Below is a picture of the staff women that I work with. I cannot tell you how much I absolutely love and adore every single one of these women. Some of them were friends of mine before we ever started working together, and some became great friends because of working together. I love you all dearly and don't know what I will do without you in my daily life!

And just for fun...here is Brett looking studly before our banquet!

That's all for now, but check back soon for an update on Brett and I and our upcoming transition!
